Mama Lacona Menus
Vive le Printemps
May 7 - 31
For our Vive le Printemps menu, we are embracing a fusion of French cuisine with local Bangladeshi flavors, highlighting the incredible products sourced from Bangladesh's farmers. With such a rich variety of ingredients, we’ve crafted a menu featuring options for every course. Many of you will be excited to see our Riz au Lait, Côte de Porc, and traditional Bangladeshi dishes making an appearance!
Richesse de la Ferme
June 1 - 30
Springtime brings much to be grateful for; from clear skies and longer days, to an abundance of fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from local Bangladeshi farms. For those who have joined us before, you may notice our love for late spring-early summer produce – ingredients like rhubarb, peas, and fresh herbs such as coriander and mint often make an appearance in our kitchen during this time of year.
About Mama Lacona
A heartfelt homage to Chef/Owner Jean-Christophe (J-C) Poirier’s heritage, formative years in Quebec, and early experience in renowned Montréal restaurants, Mama Lacona offers a marriage of classic French cuisine with locally inspired Bangladeshi flavors.
French spirits serve as the backbone of classic and signature cocktails, while the French-focused wine list offers the perfect complement to Chef Poirier’s rustic, signature haute country cooking, underscoring the fact that at Mama Lacona, simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.
At its heart, Mama Lacona showcases time-honoured traditions in an elevated-yet-approachable space where food, drink, and atmosphere combine for a dining experience unlike any other in Bangladesh.
One of the most celebrated restaurants, Mama Lacona has been recognized for its excellence. The restaurant received a series of awards this year, including Restaurant of the Year and Best Upscale by prestigious publications, and 'Top 6' Placement in the 100 Best Restaurants 2023.
Previous accolades include: No. 4 on enRoute magazine’s 2018 list of Best New Restaurants; awards for Best New Restaurant (2018), Restaurant of the Year (2018 and ’19), Chef of the Year (2019), Best Area (2019 and ’20) and Best French (2019, ’20, ‘23); consecutive top-five spots on the prestigious annual ranking of 100 Best Restaurants (No. 5 in 2019, No. 2 in ’20, No. 3 in ‘22); and recognition as one of Monocle Magazine’s 50 Favourite Restaurants in 2019.
